MARKILUX PERGOLA RETRACTABLE ELECTRIC SUNSHADE SYSTEM WITH LIGHTS

A superb example of a private balcony in the seaside town of Bognor Regis now shaded from the South facing and intense sun in the summertime.

This balcony was unusable after mid-morning, and we were invited to suggest options for a retractable shading solution. The normal retractable awnings would prove to be difficult because of structural restrictions and the windy exposure by the sea.
A Markilux Pergola system was the best suggestion as it has a much higher wind rating and can deal with rainfall even with a relatively low pitch on the fabric cover.

This installation faces the sea in Bognor Regis, and we also suggested the upgrade available from Markilux on a special marine corrosion resistant coating finish to help with the obvious salt content in the air in this location.
The Pergola system can have the front support posts set back by up to 1000mm when required which enabled us to deal with the balcony curve in this example giving maximum shade by the extension of the main cover.

Fully retractable at the push of a button on a remote handset and extending out to 3500mm when opened, covering nearly 6m in width, this pergola has created a superb outdoor weather protected space now for the customers and their family and friends.

This particular pergola was also specified with LED lighting in the projecting tracks either side to enable remote control and dimmable lighting to be used into the evenings.

We think this is a beautiful example for the use of a fabric retractable pergola system and know it has improved the use of this balcony throughout the year.
